 FORMAT:

LOGLINE: Dan is a father image type, renting a shared apartment to 3 younger women, all with hidden or buried abuse and self-worth issues.  Dan is protective of them, while the ladies learn they are just as protective of him. Each episode explores that pain, making fun of life, but never of the pain
 SYNOPSIS:
A 65 year old man owns an apartment cluster with a common living area and kitchen. 3 young women are the tenants, all of them co-existing with firm boundaries on what is acceptable and what is not. Dan is the father figure, while the three women, each with deep and painful past hurts. They learn to navigate life, pain, tragedy with their trust, transparency, and humor.
Dan is mid 60’s, an investor, choosing to live in the cluster instead of relative opulence, knowing the stability of his ‘family’ anchors him against the pull of his PTSD, triggered by a dark and secretive past(think CIA Operative)  he keeps hidden. One woman is over-sexed (self esteem issues), one is overly modest (abuse issues), one is black, bi-sexual, Dan’s CPA and best friend, the ‘big sister’ of the three women. The CPA is Dan’s best friend, being a resident of the apartment for over 3 years.
 Visual images
Storyline – Picture an All In The Family/3’s Company Type sit-com
Apartment – 3's Company style visual setting, one master bedroom (Dan’s) 3 separate bedrooms with individual bathroom/showers, common living area, large kitchen with small dining table, living room with sliding doors onto medium size balcony
Dan – Mid/late 60’s, White, handsome, educated, apparently has money, but keeps his money and source of it private. Great cook, dates a lot, but does not commit. Women he dates range from Broadway Stars to Waitresses, all depending if they are interesting or not. Somewhat naïve, Dan is widowed, a tragic factor that plays into his present behavior.
SHANE – Late 20’s, sexually aggressive, dresses overly provocative, picture older Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate) Kristina refers to Shane's wardrobe as the “Ho-Drobe”
I.e. “Stop calling my wardrobe the Ho-Drobe!” (Shane crosses her arms over chest, glares at Kristina)  “Does “Little House On The Prairie know you’re auditioning?” (Kristina's face, disbelief, mouth open) “Don’t you dis Little House!”
Kristina – Late 20’s, girl next door pretty, dresses overly modest, picture Milana Vayntrub, (Lily/ATT Commercials), voluptuous, covers body with full blouses/pants)
Tanya – Later 20’s, early 30’s, black, CPA, sarcastic personality, plain, very attractive when makeup/stylish clothes worn), picture Dianna Reasoner, (Kasie, NCIS lab tech) - Tanya is Bi-Sexual, but committed to whatever sex it is she’s attracted to at the time. (Shane calls her BiPolar Sexual)
Supporting Characters
Hope/Tom Reynolds – Dan’s age. Own old time atmosphere Ice Cream/Hamburger parlor on street near apartment building. There is a history between Dan and Hope/Tom, originating in Dan’s past. Hope runs the place, Tom, her husband, serves as cook, soda jerk, bouncer. Hope, Tom, and Dan are very close. After many of the emotionally charged episodes, Dan and the main character involved in the episode are seen at a booth, eating ice cream, (“Ice Cream heals all wounds”) scene fades out to booth seen through large window, gold lettering on window, “HOPE’S PLACE” (obvious double meaning). Setting/screen fade out is continual visual image in show
Olga Borski – late 50’s, early 60’s, extremely attractive, elegant, Russian citizen, owner/operator of the Premier Russian Private Ballet Company. Ex Prima Ballerina for Russian Ballet Company. Dan and Olga have a past, hints at a romantic past, based in the origin of Dan’s PTSD. They both feel it, but due to geography and wounds of the past, they can’t commit. Olga visits when she comes to America on tour, bonding with the women in the apartment, them soon seeing her as a mother figure. A seductive type, very independent, clashing with Dan’s old school ‘head of household’ belief. The clashing of the two worlds, politically and culturally, lead to just as many laughs as it does arguments.
Storyline Potentials – Varied and almost endless. Each character has one, most have more than one. Olga and her stories, Hope, Tom and Dan in a secretive past, hints of Dan capable of violence when someone he cares about is threatened, especially a woman.
