The D Ranch, 2000 acres of working ranch at the foot of hills extending from the D.C. National Forest
20 years ago, a drunk driver hit a commercial truck, leaving a twin brother and sister, Dilbert and Destiny Bosworth, as orphans. Over the next 8 years, Dilbert and Destiny fought for each other, protected each other, and cared for each other, through countless foster homes and people trying to gain control of the settlement awarded them from the company that owned the truck. For over 100 years, the Bosworth Family has owned a small parcel of land at the base of the D.C. Forest hills, passing it on from generation to generation. At the ages of 18, Dilbert (Dil) and Destiny (Dez), began purchasing adjoining tracts of land, eventually owning over 2000 acres of working ranch. The original home was burned to the ground during a fire, then rebuilt by Dil and Dez into the ultra-modern home they live in today. Due to Dil's work with Special Operations, the D Ranch is a fortress - Well equipped to fend off attacks or plan attacks

The D Ranch is threatened by a wildfire that's out of control. They have to fight it with what they have, and by the willpower to save the Ranch. No bullets, no fighting, no revenge, just the sheer willpower and love of this land will save the day

The D Ranch Stable
The ranch has several stables, but the one that plays the most importance in these stories, is the stable directly out the front door. A 6 stall building, housing horses that need specific treatment after abuse and neglect. In that stable, there are two very special animals that play roles in the stories, as well as stealing the heart of Nell, as she and Dil find each other, Nell moving in, then marrying Dil. The D Ranch Animals
PRISSY - A grey dappling mare, horribly mistreated and neglected until the local veterinarian asks Dil and Dez to take her in, providing her comfort until she passes away. The care from Dil/Dez bring the horse some hope. The moment Nell walks in the stable, the two of them bond, giving Nell a purpose, and giving Prissy the will to live. Over the course of the stories, Prissy acts as friend and protector to Nell

BESSIE - The same vet asked Dil if he would take on another desperate animal...In this case, a large cow, covered from head to toe with cancerous tumors. Nell refuses to allow anyone to put this animal down, noticing that Bessie doesn't seem to be suffering or bothered by the tumors. Dil thinks she's the ugliest animal he's ever seen, but Nell and Dez slowly work their magic on both Bessie and Dil, finding out that this cow was sent to the D Ranch, for a purpose...And that purpose is borderline miraculous. KITTY - Every ranch needs a house cat, right? How about a full grown Mountain Lion? Kitty first meets Torres in the Louisiana swamps, as Torres is placed on the swamp island in a twisted tale of rich men wanting to hunt humans. Torres and the Cougar find they have quite a bit in common, saving each other from death. Months later, Torres and Bishop find Kitty in a circus, caged and neglected. A kidnap/rescue plan is generated, with Torres, Palmer, and Breena leading the way.
