I FELT THE CURRENT NCIS CHARACTERS HAD STAGNATED
- So I decided to do something about it
The NCIS shows had too many great actors playing stagnate characters. In my novels, I'm known for Character Development. Frustrated, I began writing these stories to take Gibbs, Bishop, Torres, and Nell, on a different path, growing them, exposing them to more influential people, and finally developing them into a team that is respected and feared all over the world.
Gibbs needed to grow so McGee could grow so Gibbs could find some peace. I have added three major items to his life. Almost a year ago, I added Daisy, the German Shepherd who's BIO you can find under INTRODUCING, then drop down "New Characters". Shannon gives Daisy to Gibbs, which can be found in the Origin Stores drop down (under NCIS STORIES. Then I add Caprice, also found in the New Characters drop down, finally giving Gibbs a woman he can love unconditionally, and does not put up with too much of Gibbs shenanigans at all. Finally, I've moved Gibbs to the Assistant Director of NCIS, moving him to the top floor, but keeping a desk in the bullpen. This allows McGee to run the team his way, which as we learn is very different than Gibbs, but at times, more effective. Gibbs will be focusing more on training of other NCIS teams, allowing me to take Gibbs and family to other countries and locations. Gibbs is tired. He also knows as long as he stays Team Leader, McGee will never grow, which further adds to the risk of McGee taking on of those big money offers from the Corporate world.
McGee is and always will be McGee, the best friend to Gibbs, and the most loyal. Gibbs, however, has moved upstairs next to Vance, and now McGee leads the team permanently. There are plans for McGee, that Gibbs and Vance have shared with him...6 months to Gibbs retiring, then McGee takes the Asst Director spot. After one year, Vance wants to marry Loretta (SecState), and will not do so as long as his job might put her in danger as it did Jackie. After this time frame, McGee is being groomed to take Vance's spot, the Director of NCIS
Bishop was introduced to us as a nerdy analyst, papers on the floor, eating Cheetos...The evolution they took Bishop on was unrealistic and unbelievable. No one, with part time training, hiding it from Gibbs and crew, could develop the talents they gave her towards the end. But...Bishop could be evolved into her own badass agent, her own talents, and gun training over the years by Gibbs....That is believable. Bishop's character became stale. The love interest between Torres and Bishop went unanswered. I wrote a different path for Bishop and Torres. Recently, the last Episode of Season 18, Bishop leaves, portrayed as a hardhearted woman that broke all our hearts. The TV audience felt betrayed. ..Ziva came prepackaged as a Mossad agent, trained from childhood to be what she was...Bishop was never going to be Ziva...She was never going to be Ziva-Like...Emily Wickersham is a talented actress. She could have evolved Bishop into her own spotlight. I decided to do just that. In these stories, Bishop comes to realize many of her actions were prompted by emotion, her decisions not just placing her in danger, but the entire team as well. Bishop continues to struggle with this, but the birth of Nickie has changed her outlook from all 'self' to "others". It's been a year long process, but we're finally there.
BTW - Before the TV show revealed Odette was teaching Bishop to shoot? Gibbs taught her...A realistic and believable storyline that shows how Bishop became the best there is with a pistol, is found in "The Lesson" - You can find that episode below and on the Greatest Hits page!
Torres had been reduced to one-liners and comic relief. I changed that, Gibbs recognizing that 10 years of undercover work gave Torres a unique insight into the mind of criminals, eventually using Torres more and more in a semi-replacement for Jack. I took Torres and Bishop on a path that brought them together, eventually married, and recently, Bishop gave birth to Little Nickie...They still squabble, they both still have issues, but they work it out throughout these stories, showing the audience hos a marriage can work
Tony & Ziva - One of the most popular love stories in TV history, fell into a hole and disappeared, their lives eliminated from the TV stories. I wrote them back in, them both needing the team's support after an automobile accident leaves Tony terribly burned while protecting Tali in the car. Currently, they are working on committing to marriage, both fighting fears and the past, but part of the family again! For their return, see "Family Is A State Of Mind", found on the Greatest Hits page!
Nell had her own 'cult' following, Renee Felice Smith was underutilized for too long, and her character's talents underutilized by NCIS-LA. I formed a spin off series, Madame Director/Cyberforce, with Delilah Fielding as the Agency Director (Madame Director) and Nell was stolen away from NCIS-LA by Vance and Gibbs to be Delilah's second in command. Nell is an expert at drone usage and the coordination of satellites. These two woman make an almost unbeatable team, using their brains, courage, and integrity to support NCIS in their expanded roles, then eventually leaving the NCIS umbrella, Cyberforce becoming its own Federal Agency. Nell shines as the 'best damn drone operator in the country"...Nell also finds a love interest...She meets Captain Dilbert Bosworth, they both fall in love, and over time, Nell learns to trust this man, finally giving herself to him in marriage...Nell is currently pregnant with Dil's child. Dil and Nell's story can be found by clicking the Episode links below
The Story of Nell and Dil meeting is in the story below = It is also the first full episode of the spin-off, "Madame Director"
